The carnivals are just not about costumes and music. The streets are perhaps the best place to enjoy the carnival in its true indigenous flavor. The Rio carnival is no different in this respect. One of the most fascinating and entertaining aspects of Rio carnival are the streets parties which dazzle all with the thumping music and the wonderful atmosphere. The carnival boasts of many streets festivities and almost any corner where people gather to sing and dance becomes a party venue. One of the most exiting street festivals is held at Cinelandia Square which is the best place to party in the great old way with amazing singers and orchestras.

On this day whole of Kawasaki witness people in pink carrying penis shaped lollipops and everything else on the street in the same shape including the food. Initially it started as a tradition when centuries back the prostitutes prayed to the god to protect them from syphilis. But with time it has evolved as a day when childless couples pray to have a child or people may also pray for protection against sexually transmitted diseases.
