It is none other than an impartial raffle which decides the Parading order. Going on the same traditional trend, the guests, samba school representative, the press and LEISA organizers gathered at the Samba City amphitheater. It was organized in order to attend the drawing of different schools in 2012 parading order, in July. The parade regulations allow the Access Group winner to open the Special Group’s Sunday show. Sao Clemento, the last year’s weakest school will be parading first on Monday. It is always kept in mind that best schools of Samba should not parade on the same single day to retain the fun, adventure and entertainment.

That is why the remaining schools are divided into equal pairs in the lottery. This is done in order to balance the show and parades between the best schools on Sunday and Monday. For the first time, the day is defined by the raffle. After this, the same little balls are drawn once more by chance. It will give a pre-final parade order to the specific samba school. If the samba schools are interested, the same night may witness the change for another time. In other words, it is the perfect combination of negotiations and little bit of luck which defines the final parading order for the day.

f you are very new to the world of Rio Carnival then you might have come across some fresh words. To your dismay, many visitors don’t even know the meaning of this word, Ziriguidum and they certainly feel very confused. In fact, Ziriguidum is nothing but a Brazilian Portuguese word or an onomatopoeic which is pronounced with a strong and flavored South African tone. In other words, it strongly expresses the tones and sounds expressed by the samba drums and other percussion instruments. We find a wide variety of instruments and drums that play music in the biggest carnival of the drum and the local people mouth this word more often now to show their love or affection to the enjoyment.

You can also do a little bit of research to find its use in the song of 1976, “Samba do Ziriguidum”. It was released by Novos Baianos and the song was written & sung by Luiz Bittencourt and Jadir de Castro. The album was in the name of ‘Caia na Estrada e perigas ver’. This song strongly depicts the picture of violence in Brazil’s favelas. However, we can find similar local onomatopoeic words in the Brazil carnival. Some of them are ‘Bumbum Particundum Prugurundum’, ‘telecoteco’, ‘balacobaco’ and ‘esquindo lele’.

The festivity does not require any sort of promotion or campaign to market the traditions and fun which throng the carnival. We can just witness the unending and thundering drums, sound beats and escalating dance performance. The Sambadrome allows the blocos and Samba schools to carry their marches and parades on the streets of Rio. Given you are a visitor to the grand occasion, you can simply book your liquor and samba costume to suit your interests and take the full fun out of your busy and tensed life.
The Carnival fever clutches everyone not only in Brazil but also in each part of the world. With the key handling ceremony from the city may to King Momo on February 17th, the official showdown will begin although the dates of Carnival in Brazil are from February 18th on Saturday to February 21st on Tuesday. But it should be noted here that these are only the dates – the real Carnival celebration and preparation starts a month before this date. The worldwide visitors will dance their legs to the tunes of samba schools and you will be singing the bloco drums.

Many people are very confused about how the carnival dates are decided every year and how it changes? In fact, the dating of the Carnival is greatly based on the Catholic Calendar. In the meantime, it was decided that the Carnival dates will be always scheduled seven Sundays before the famous Sunday which means, the Sunday of Easter. It is well known that the date of Easter will change from 22nd March to 25th April and similar is the pattern of Carnival dates. You can simply grasp the concept because the previous Carnival was from March 4-8 and the next year i.e. in 2013, it will be celebrated from February 8-12.
