St. Thomas Carnival is so called because it is usually held on the Virgin Island of St. Thomas nearly in the ending of April month every year. On this occasion, all the peoples living on this island get the opportunity of evincing their talents, ability and creativeness. This event is coordinated by a committee set up by the members of this island. This carnival is of great significance from both economical and social aspect hence this will never be discontinued.
This carnival is so popular that still it is being counted among the top 10 carnivals across the world for owning nearly 150 volunteers along with two staff members who are being paid. This conclusion was drawn in accordance with the survey accomplished in United States of America recently. Some of the best footages of this event were also broadcasted in the Discovery channel’s “fantastic festivals of the world” program. As far as the producer of this event is concerned, this event has acquired a world wide fame and popularity in a very short period.
Also this festival got popularity world wide for numerous awards distribution ceremony which has become an integral part of this event for the last 20 years and this thing has pulled many peoples toward this event.
