With the arrival of April month, St Thomas unleashes its domicile honor. This event is of almost 20 days in which participants of every age grabs the opportunity to present their talent and inner potential. This event begin with the traditional show of prince and princess and with the passage of time, it attained rapidity. The day on which queen was crowned; some partially nude females presented their side so as to draw the ultimate attention of spectators and also catching some popularity. The performer who received the maximum attention of spectator was crowned.
In the beginning course of this carnival, until the Latin calypso went on, the level of merriment and enjoyment remained restrained and temperate however as soon as the Soca explosion took place, the things reached beyond control. In this event, exceptional music known as Soca music was scattered everywhere and dancers performed in the entirely intoxicated situation.
St. Thomas Carnival started on 11th of April whereas climaxed on 1st of May. For the naive, this implicated volunteers having nothing to hide apart from having some paint on their body. The entire mood changed on 29th of April when the small kids participated in the parade and also some renowned schools appeared with their scholars to have some pomp and show.
