Toronto celebrating Annual Caribana Festival on July 29th – July 30th 2011

Summer in Toronto comes alive during Caribana festival time. This is an annual celebration of Caribbean culture music and performing arts. This year the dates have been announced as July 29th – July 30th 2011. In this cultural explosion hundreds of models, beautiful women from various parts of the world take part to perform and display their talent. Along with the music and dance there is Carribean cuisine and lot of exotic flavorful dishes that visitors can try out.

Caribana Festival happens at an international level and proudly showcases the culture of North America and native people of Caribbean lands. Quiver melodies of Hip hop Reggae Soca and Calypso explodes the streets of Toronto during this fiesta.

The celebrations are one of the kind and displays extravagant talents of women and men taking part in various shows. With all the music and steel pan drums beating the whole Canada turns out to be a big musical stage. Artist from various countries proudly take part in the shows and attracts thousands of tourists every year. There is the grand parade of the band on the last day of carnival in which brightly colored masqueraders take part to lure the visitors. So hurry up and join in the big Caribbean party in Toronto.

Sao Paulo Brazil Carnival 2011

Sao Paulo carnival will be held from March 4-6 at the Anhembi Sambadrome in Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo is situated in Southeastern Brazil. The Sao Paulo carnival is a great party and a fantastic alternative to the Rio carnival due to cheaper tickets and also less tourist atmosphere.

There is a performance all night by the samba schools of the city in Sambadrome where they compete for much-sought after samba awards. It is a lavish live spectacle where the devotees of samba can experience the spirit of the carnival in a truly Brazilian style. A huge number of cheering fans attend the event featuring new themes, costumes as well as dances. Sao Paulo’s samba is characterized by a heavier and a distinct style of percussion rhythm called in jest the ‘samba do trabalho’, which means ‘samba of work.’

The carnival parade in the Sambodrome is a huge party with singing, dancing along with cheering. A huge number of Brazilian visitors dance to sounds of drums of Sao Paulo. There are smiles on people faces and the night is a great enjoyment with lots of excitement. One can also enjoy blocos, street parades. The festival is held over a weekend. The carnival draws a huge number of visitors from all parts of the world who participate enthusiastically in the carnival celebrations.

Oktoberfest Brazil- Blumenau

A beer festival, Oktoberfest is held in the city of Blumenau in Brazil. It is an important city in the Santa Catarina State, about 139 km from Florianopolis which is the capital. The festival, the largest one in Brazil, lasts 18 days. The festival was first started to help the city to recover from flood in 1984. This year the Oktoberfest will be held from 7 to 24 October. It will be the 27th edition.

The Oktoberfest is a special festival for the beer lovers who are crazy for it. A huge variety of different flavors of beer can be enjoyed. The prominent features of Oktoberfest are parades and shows, held in central Blumenau, with bands of Germany, Brazil, Austria and other countries playing great music. There will be other attractions – a Biergarten, folk dances, contests and German food. One can buy souvenirs like beer mugs, handicrafts along with German apparel. Millions of people, a maddening crowd of almost 700,000 gather for this festival.

There are only few hotels in Blumenau. Balneario Camboriu is one of favorite destinations for the travelers to stay. It is important to be safe in the Oktoberfest festival because of danger of driving after getting drunk. Oktoberfest is a great festival to enjoy with friends and experience one of the wildest parties with beer and other fun.
