Carnival in Aalborg is the largest one in the entire region of Scandinavia. The entire Northern Europe holds this carnival of Denmark in high Esteem. This year in 2010 Carnival in Aalborg was held during the month of May on 29th of Saturday. Nearly 25000 carnivalists came to the festival. About 100000 spectators came to behold the colorful celebrations of this festival. 15 professional carnival groups dressed themselves in colorful dresses and danced in perfect joy. The Children’s Carnival was an important part of Carnival in Aalborg. Hundreds of kids dressed up smartly in colorful costumes and marched in the grand city parade with their parents.

During the Carnival in Aalborg the city park called Kildeparken was transformed into a virtual magic world to enhance the excitement of children. Youth mingled with their lovers and spouse wearing great fancy dresses. Every year the grand carnival held at Aalborg city holds a festival theme. This year the celebration theme was Mars & Venus. The carnival celebration in Aalborg city started in honor of Pagan beliefs. These beliefs consider the period after spring to be filled with happiness, fertility and fantasy. This carnival symbolizes the victory of light over evil forces representing Satan, darkness and ghosts.
