Excitement and Fun at Rio Carnival

Poor people staying all across the Rio city are the main part of the Rio Carnival. They can be seen in large groups throughout the Carnival days. These people are most concerned about the Rio Carnival. They generally live in the favelas – small huts, arranged one above the other. These are made up of scrape material such as cardboards. Basic facilities – drainage, drinking water, and roads are generally not there in those favelas.

Regardless of any bad conditions, these people live in they are the integral part of the Rio Carnival. They participate in the carnival in large group and stay together all the while. For them, carnival means a lot more than enjoyment and celebrations. This is the only time during a year, when they can go out and enjoy the fun of the carnival.
Main passions of the people staying in Rio city are soccer, samba and carnival. All young members from the favelas are always learning and performing samba at nearby samba schools. These schools create groups and designs various costumes that make them look different during the carnival. The carnival is not dependent on any permission or sponsor. And so it’s free for everyone to participate and enjoy the excitement.
