St. Thomas Carnival Gets Started in April 20th

Come April, and St. Thomas will lose some of its residing purity as always. Carnival starts for 2009. It will be held in 20 days between 20th April and 2nd May. People of all ages will get opportune time to display their potential.
Starting with the customary Prince and Princess show, it gains speed. On the Queen’s selection day, there will be hordes of beautiful half nude women who show their stuff to gain instant fame. The top attention grabber would be crowned.
Till 23rd when the Latin Calypso will take place, there will be moderate enjoyment and the mood will just set in. However, with the Soca explosion, things will go out of hand. This is the day revelers start making soca music vociferously in absolutely drunk stage.
The Carnival village will be opened on 27th to pronounce raw revelry to start for three days. This would culminate on 30th with the J’ouvert beach show. For the uninitiated, this entails volunteers to have nothing more tan paint highlighting their bodies. You can make your own picture regarding the scenery.
1st of May is when the month and mood change. There would be a kids parade and top schools turn out with their eclectic students to make a pompous show. The culmination is however again strong in joy with the adults too having their parade on 2nd. They will throw all caution to the wind and enjoy as if there will not be any tomorrow.
Lionel Roberts stadium will be the scene of entire carnival.
