The Sydney Mardi Gras is an annual parade of gay and lesbians held in Sydney, Australia. It is a cultural celebration of the gays. On 19 February, 2011, Queer Thinking will be held. On 20th, Fair Day is organized. On 27th, Harbour2011 will be held. On 28th, Pool Party will be organized in which there is non-stop entertainment. On 4th March, Drag Races will be organized. On 5th, there will be a parade and a party. A major program of arts and culture showcasing local as well as international talents will also be held.

The main features of the parade are individual gay entrants and representatives dressed up in colorful and exotic costumes. There are firework displays on roofs of buildings situated in the parade route. There are elaborate floats which represent topical theme and also political message when there is a visual commentary on political opponents.

Also, there are gatherings of community group members of local as well as inter-state areas. There is live entertainment which includes cabarets, comedy, and music along with theatre. The film festival showcases films that are gay and lesbian. Events related to arts and literature and forums and conferences too are organized. The parade as well as the dance party is a great attraction for both local and international tourists. The multi-faceted as well as high-energy event has a lot of attractions in the form of parties, parades, fairs along with performances.

Mardi gras community that represents the gay and lesbian great community will celebrate a function in which they promoting their community for equality and honor of gays and lesbians in society. For this occasion they designed a rainbow flag which is made of the recycled toys, plastics, lids and a green pulsating heart which represents the symbol of love, life and affection at Sydney because as the heart is the life of a body Sydney is the heart of Mardi gras community of lesbians and gays.

Mardi gras community is basically created for the gays, lesbians by which they can define and express the feelings and way of their life. The Mardi gras community is created before 32 years which provide the proper environment and life style for the lesbians and gays. This community represents the sexual and equality of gays and bisexuals in society by celebrating this function at wider Sydney in 2010. In this celebration three cyclists ride on bikes with electrified heart along parade route. For making it a memorable celebration they engaged famous choreographer with their friends and dancers with the theme of batman and wonder woman which represented the superheroes protecting the city. This theme says that there are super heroes that will make the city more protected and peaceful.

Gays and lesbians community want to make the city Sydney more greener, protected and a sustained city. Sydney is a major contributor and sponsor to make the great position of transgender, lesbians and gay men equal and more respectable in the society that is why to make Sydney more popular, protected and famous they will celebrate the function of Mardi gras at parade.
