In fact, the Cayman Pirates are just busy in doing preparations for the huge occasion of the 34th National Festival. The tourists and participating visitors will definitely look forward to the Heritage Day, fireworks galore and various competitions. This event is scheduled to be held from November 10 to November 20, 2011 that will greet you with sporty events too, at the same time. Each day has its significance that might surprise with the various interesting events such as pirate invasion, steel pan competition and the Festival Queen’s crowning.

Cayman Islands Pirate’s Week

Cayman Islands are situated to the northwest of Jamaica and southwest of Cuba. Cayman Islands Pirates Week is one of the hottest events of 2010. Consisting of 11 festive days of fun, it features music, costumes, games, street dances, drinks and food, kid’s day, sports event, pirate invasion, glittering parade, heritage days, fireworks and many other attractions. The Pirates Week starts with fireworks. There will be local song contest and Caribbean rhythms, street dances in open air till the late midnight. An authentic Caribbean event, the Pirates week is a great fun for entire family.

On 6 November will be the Little Cayman day. On 11 November there will be the Pre-Pirates week celebration and party. On 12 Nov. there will be events like Run, Costume competition, Miss Festival Costume Competition and fireworks, song competition, street dance and also a food festival. On 13 November, there will be Sea Swim Entertainment, Landing Pageant, Float Parade, Midnight street dance and also a food festival, teen disco and Cayman Craft Market. On 14 November, there will be Children’s Fun Fair Day and underwater treasure hunt. On 15 November, there will be George Town Heritage Day, and Steel Band Competition. On 16 November, there will be East End Heritage Day. On 17 November, there will be West Bay Heritage Day, Swim meet, Turtle Release. On 18 November there will be North Side Heritage Day. On 19 November, there will be Bodden Town Heritage Day and an International Swim Meet. On 20 November, there will be a Swim Meet, Newlands Heritage Day, Boat Race, fireworks, Harbour Drive, Midnight Street Dance and Food Festival, Teen Disco and Cayman Craft Market. On 21 November, there will be 10k Run, Swim Meet and Mickey Mouse Darts Tournament.

Cayman Island is known all over for the Pirates week which is the best way to unwire your senses. With many activities and so many contests all the people who gather at this event have their hands full for the entire duration. It has all aspects of a great carnival blended uniquely in the form of fireworks, song competition, street dances, kid’s days, floats and many such events which will truly thrill you completely. Something for everyone-it is the perfect way to enjoy as a family. Pirates week 2009 is scheduled from Nov 12-22 and will sure be marvelous experience.

Thursday Nov 12th will see pre –pirates parties

Friday, Nov 13th will see many events with the Pirates Costume Competition, fireworks, National Song Competition and street dance.

Sunday, Nov 15th will have two exciting activities for both kids and adults. While the kids can have fun at the Children Fun Day, the adults can get some adventure at the Underwater Treasure Hunt.

Friday, Nov 20th will see the bands competing in the Steel Band Competition.

Saturday, Nov 21st will see a couple of boat races, fireworks and the Street Dance Finale.

Sunday, Nov 22nd will be the day when this 11 day extravaganza will conclude with the Pirates week run and the Darts Tournament.
