1. Copacabana Beach

One of the most popular beaches of Brazil is the Copacabana Beach. It stretches across 3 kms and looks the Guanabara Bay and gives a fantastic view of the Sugarloaf Mountain. There is a fort at both the end of the beach. The tourists have a great opportunity to get and in-depth knowledge of the city’s history as well as a little about Brazil.

2. Sugarloaf Hill (Pao de Acucar)

Sugarloaf mountain rises from the Guanabara Bay and it is 396 meters high. It is quartz and granite peak. You will have to take a cable car from the Praia Vermelha (Red Beach) to Morro da Urca (Urca Hill) and after that to the top of the Sugarloaf Mountain. Though it is just a 20-minute ride but you will never forget the view that you get from the cable car.

3. Maracana Stadium

Rio De Janeiro is the proud owner of the world most famous football stadium, the Maracana Stadium. It played host to the 1950 World Cup Final where Uruguay defeated Brazil in front of almost 200,000 in attendance. If you are in Rio, you need to watch a match in this stadium to get the real experience.

4. Tijuca National Park (Parque Nacional da Tijuca)

Rio de Janeiro also has something for the nature lovers. Tikuca national Park is the world’s biggest urban forest. It stretches across 4000 acres.

5. Corcovado

It is a granite peak, which is in the Tijuca forest. It is 710 meter high. At the top of the mountain, stands the most amazing 38 feet tall statue of Jesus Christ with arms outstretched pointing towards Rio. To reach the top of the mountain, you have the option of taking an electric train.
