The event ends with a “Mas” costume parade with brightly coloredmasqueraders dancing and enjoying on the beats of mambo and samba.

The Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival dates are June 12th & 13th, 2010 at the Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida and celebrate its 18th year. The Carnival includes performances by internationally known artists from East India. The Carnival features a steel drum competition, live performances and a “mas” costume parade. You can be a witness of extraordinary experience of listening and dancing with Shaggy, Queen of Soca Allison Hinds and many folk dancers and new artists. You can explore your weekend in only $ 25. The timing of carnival on Saturday at 12 noon to 10 pm and on Sunday it will start at 1 pm to 10 pm.
While carnival is planning, private and public activities come to slow during the month for Carnival celebrations. Preparations get started months before the Carnival with costume making, rehearsals for the parade and the competitions. In the first few days, there are pageants for king and queen of the band, Carnival queen and prince and princess. The tempo of Carnival jump up with the costume parade, folk dances and fireworks.
