West Palm Beach is one of the most sought after places for fun beach events during summer. This year, West Palm Beach is celebrated the Second Annual West Palm Beach Carnival last June 20, 2009. It was a festive celebration that aims to unite the locales of the place as well as tourists and travelers all around the globe to give honor and pride to West Palm Beach’s Caribbean heritage and culture.
The carnival awed a lot of locales and tourists. There would be a colorful parade of costumes participated by the residence of Palm Beach as well as special guests from all over the state. Foods and drinks were all over the place. This is the best time to be in Palm Beach and get a taste of different Caribbean cuisines that were highlighted during the festivities. Most local restaurants participated in this great celebration and gave away promo and discounts on foods and drinks. Some restaurants and dining places highlighted their very own Caribbean menus. To go with the theme of the carnival, business establishments in the Palm Beach area decorated their stores and boutiques with Caribbean themed accessories and decoration.
A carnival would not be a party without entertainment. The Second Annual West Palm Beach Carnival featured live music at its best. Attendees listened to the majestic music of the Roy Cape All Stars, the Blaxx and Olantunji. Guests were also serenaded by the sounds of Rita Jones, Edwin (Eddie) Charles, Oscar B and Adesh Samaroo, among other live performers.
The Second Annual West Palm Beach Carnival was organized by the The Palm Beach Multicultural Organization Inc. It is a group of skilled professionals from various fields. Some of the members are reputable members of the media, radio, finance and entertainment. The members’ talents, skills and resources make it possible for this wondrous event to become one of the most celebrated events in West Palm Beach.
Aside from giving pride to West Palm Beach’s Caribbean descent, The Second Annual West Palm Beach Carnival is also held to give off to charity. Some proceeds of the carnival would be given for the benefit of the Palm Beach School of Autism. The people behind this carnival aims create an appropriate program for autistic children to maximize their abilities despite of their disabilities.
